Carbon EVERYTHING... wheels, stem, crank... the air in the tires is carbon infused! This thing is so light that if you want to race it in UCI, they provide a seat post with removable weights on it so you meet the required minimum weight of 15 pounds. 

Delicious mixed pack review: Chimay

One of my financier's favorite beers is Chimay White. Whenever it's on tap, we get a pint. The local liquor store has this slick 3 pack so we could taste them all and see what the other flavors were like. This pack came with a glass even, so the experience is complete!

It's a delicious tie!

In my opinion, the Red was the best, had a more hoppy and smooth taste, the white was more like a hefeweizen or a wheat, and the blue was just kind of bland. You can see by the color how the red is a little darker ad the white is lighter. That's indicative of the taste. My mighty vote goes for the Red, while Natalie chose the White. If Max had only chosen the blue, we could have all been happy. But he's a whiskey drinker.

Macneil completed!

Today I picked up the Macneil from the bike shop and had a chance to put it together. It has a press in bottom bracket that needs a special tool that the bike shop had.

The posts for the brakes are on the bottom of the seat stays, shown below. They're removable in case you wanted to run brakeless and have it look clean.

In order to get the most rise out of the controls, the stem is mounted upside down. This gives another inch or so

The headset

The bike went together pretty well. Some notes:

- I replaced the loose FSA headset bearings with some sealed T.H.E. bearings I had laying around. 

- The brakes had the springs reversed for some reason and after installing them I realized that they needed swapping.

- I'm running a 3/8" axle front wheel on a fork set up for a 14mm axle, so I have a adaptor in there to make up for the extra space. 

- Getting the tire off of the old wheel and onto the new Odyssey wheel took like 10 minutes! It was worse than a downhill tire!

This frame is larger than either of my other 20" frames, and it's noticeable! It feels really comfortable to cruise around on. Now all we need is some sunshine to melt off the snow so the jumps will be rideable!

   I often find myself surfing eBay or Craigslist for bike parts and come across some weird ones. Here is a little round up of the silliest parts and bikes:

I have one of these Haro frames and after picking up a modern frame, this thing feels heavy as hell! The frame also came chromed, which was a very slick mirror finish on the sides.

Biopace is a crazy technology that is making somewhat of a resurgence. I had Biopace on my first bike without realizing how weird it was until someone pointed it out.
